As-Salāmu Alaykum to you all
Hi I just a regular Somali girl born + raised in the  UK and I going through a period of self discovery by this I mean that I have become intrigued about my heritage as a Somali person and my family tree.
Prior this I felt that it was not a big issue and whatever information [or propaganda that was given to me] did not really stick in my head.
and I pretty much ignored anything relating to my family tree. But as I have matured I have noticed how important
this is ....... and I have decided to embrace it head on.  I've left it a little late  @ 21 years of age but the is no like time like today

However I find it tough asking my parents or elder relatives because they either mock you or have no time or just boast about the family....
and 99% of my mates are either a] as clueless as me b] or just repeat the propaganda that they have been brainwashed with @ home 

I just want to know where I can get unbiased information on how the Somali clan system is structured ...
and why is is so confusing.....
are there any people out there who share the same probs as me? let me know..
